Only about 26 hours late, but I'm here! My host madre just fed me lots of food (I forgot that here, you don't get all the food at once - there are courses!) so I thought I was done when I finished the pasta with bread, but then came the chicken, and then the postre, which was strawberries in milk. Now I'm SUPER full! Time to rest a little bit, but not too much because we have dinner at 9:30pm, and I need to be able to sleep after that, because classes start on Monday!
Will update in more detail after my siesta :)

Hi Allyson!!! So glad you FINALLY got there, no thanks to Delta Airlines. I'll bet you are totally exhausted but I know you will have a wonderful time. It sounds like you are already getting well taken care of, which puts me at ease. I have been so stressed out and worried about my baby girl since we dropped you off in Charlotte, NC. I miss you soooo much already! Can't wait to get more updates and pictures from you. Try to take it easy today (if possible) and get some much needed rest. I love you more than you can imagine.

ReplyDeleteHey Allyson. I'm glad you finally got to Madrid without any further flight delays. As for your first day, it sounds like you are being well fed! I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures while you are there. Love, Scott
ReplyDeleteHi Allyson,
ReplyDeleteSo glad you finally arrived and eager to hear about your journey. Yes....exhaustion is usual for that kind of journey and even more so when there's added stress. Still, this is all a wonderful opportunity to see and experience a different part of the world.
That was some meal! Also the postre! It brought back memories because it's quite a common European dish. We just called it 'strawberries and cream' which in reality was the 'cream' skimmed off the top of the milk'...ha!
Take care and hope you're settling in okay.
Love,
Mare
glad you are there safe. Have a great time!
